When she realized she had matched four out of four Lotto 6/49 Extra numbers, Judith Hunter froze up in the drugstore.
The Victoria resident was at Shoppers Drug Mart when she realized she had won $500,000 from the draw on Nov. 23, 2024.
“The thought that came into my mind was that this wasn’t real,” she explained. “It must be a mistake!”
Now that she’s had some time to process the life-changing win, "gratitude" is the word she used to describe how she feels about her windfall.
The first person Hunter shared the exciting news with was her daughter and she plans to celebrate the win with a “lovely dinner with family.”
The winning ticket was purchased at the Walmart on Saanich Road and Oak Street in Victoria.
