**Editor's note: IHIT has issued a correction noting that Billy Ledoux was 15 years old, not 16 as previously publicized.**
A teenager stabbed to death in a BC park on Sunday night has been identified.
According to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), 15-year-old Billy Ledoux was killed in the incident at Larch Park in Abbotsford.
IHIT Sgt. Freda Fong said Ledoux “had his whole life ahead of him.”
“Our thoughts are with his family, friends and classmates,” Fong added.
“As the community mourns the loss of Billy, his family asks that all come together to remember and celebrate his life. They are encouraging the community to seek peace, not revenge.”
While the community mourns the young life lost, the investigation into his death is still in its infancy.
An IHIT release says a pair of youths who were previously arrested by police near the scene have since been cleared of any involvement with the fatal stabbing and released to their parents.
“We believe there are individuals who know what happened to Billy and we are asking them to do the right thing by contacting IHIT,” urged Fong.
Anyone with information on the incident, those who were within the vicinity of Larch Park between 6:30-8 pm on Sunday or those with relevant dash cam or security footage from the area that night is urged to come forward.
