High-risk sex offender re-arrested in Vancouver after allegedly masturbating outside homes

The Vancouver Police Department says a high-risk sex offender was re-arrested on Wednesday.

Skylar Wayne Pelletier, 25, was brought into custody after officers responded to reports of a man masturbating in an East Vancouver neighbourhood.

“Police were called shortly before 5 pm after a woman living near Woodland Drive and East Broadway reported a man masturbating in a lane and looking into houses,” a VPD release explained.

Responding officers located Pelletier nearby and brought him into custody. He’s been charged with one count of indecent act.

“Pelletier is a convicted sex offender who is currently serving a five-year long-term supervision order for convictions of sexual assault, assault and break and enter,” the VPD release added.

He has twice been the subject of police-issued warnings to the public about his residence in Vancouver – once when he was 21 years old in 2021 and again last year when he was 24.
