Most drivers in BC will be delivered a $110 rebate from ICBC.
The corporation said the rebates will be sent to all personal and commercial customers who had an active eligible basic insurance policy as of January of this year.
A news release said the rebates total $410 million and are the fifth round of rebates ICBC has delivered since February 2021.
Eligible customers will receive a letter detailing their rebate amount and payment method, according to how they paid for their insurance, the news release noted.
Garry Begg, Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General, said the corporation is in a strong financial position.
“This rebate is just one small way for ICBC to give back to its customers as we all navigate global economic uncertainty and increased costs in the face of unjustified tariffs,” Begg said.
According to the news release, ICBC is working exclusively with Canadian vendors to deliver the rebates, “in light of US trade actions.”
