Major crimes detectives are investigating after a missing man in BC was found at a Vancouver Island home this week.
The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) is assisting with the investigation into a suspected homicide in Lake Cowichan.
According to police, on Sept. 3, 2024 at 11 pm, Lake Cowichan RCMP attended a residence in the 7900 block Cowichan Lake road to check a property for Tavis Cragg, who was reported missing from Nanaimo on the same day.
While checking the property, responding officers located Cragg. Police now believe he was a victim of a homicide.
RCMP said that one suspect was identified and “was met by investigators.”
“The investigation remains in its early stages but investigators believe this is an isolated incident and there is no ongoing risk to community safety,” police added.
VIMCU would like to speak to anyone who may have information about the crime. If you have information to share, call the VIIMCU Information Line at (250) 380-6211.
