Motorcyclist dead after collision with truck on BC highway

One person has died following a crash on Hwy 16 on Thursday evening.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of the fatal accident, around 35 kilometres west of Terrace, around 6 pm.

The collision was between a truck and a motorcycle, the RCMP explained.

According to police, an initial investigation found that the westbound motorcycle crossed the centre line and “made contact with” the eastbound truck.

“Despite life-saving measures, the motorcyclist did not survive,” noted an RCMP statement.

There were no other injuries reported from the crash.
