A full moon will rise in the night sky tomorrow, and this one is extra special.
According to the Old Farmers Almanac, the December full moon, also known as the full Cold Moon, is one of the longest of the year.
And, this Cold Moon will be extra special as it will meet the planet Mars, obscuring it from view.
“Start looking for the full Moon just before sunset as it begins to peek above the horizon. December’s full Moon has a high trajectory in the sky, which means that it will be above the horizon for longer than most full Moons,” explains the Old Farmers Almanac.
Mars will appear as a bright red “star” in the early evening, just to the left of the moon.
The peak illumination of the full moon will be at 8 pm PST.
