One or both suspects in recent Ontario murder may be in BC, police say

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is warning the public in British Columbia that a murder suspect may be in the province.

In the afternoon on Sunday, April 12, OPP officers responded to Last Duel Park in Perth, southwest of Ottawa, where a person was found with life-threatening injuries.

The victim, identified as 34-year-old Christo Allison Richards of Ottawa, was transported to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The probe has led to arrest warrants being issued for Ottawa residents Joseph Madore, 34, and Brayton Kennedy, 28, who have both been charged with second-degree murder.

Investigators believe that Madore is currently in BC and has known associations in the Richmond, Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Terrace areas.

“Kennedy may be travelling with him or may still be in the Ottawa area,” an OPP release explained.

Anyone who sees either suspect is urged not to approach them, but rather contact police immediately with any information.
