“Police have spoken to multiple witnesses and collected multiple dash-camera videos, but we need to be thorough and we would welcome more witnesses,” says Cpl. Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol.

“The investigation is in its early stages but there are no obvious indications of criminality to this point.”

Dashcam video of the crash was shared on social media. Police said the police officer, along with the 21-year-old Maple Ridge woman who was driving and the 19-year-old Maple Ridge woman who was a passenger, were all taken to hospital as a precaution.

Both vehicles were severely damaged and traffic was diverted for about nine hours for the investigation and clean-up.

If you were a witness to this collision, including the minutes leading up to the crash, or have dash camera video, please call BC Highway Patrol – Kamloops at 250-828-3111 and quote file 2100 2025-1361.
