Police searching for man who allegedly tried to pull female hiker into vehicle in BC

The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) is trying to track down a suspect after a woman reported a frightening incident on a popular hiking trail.

The woman told police that she was hiking on the trails around Sumas Mountain Regional Park around 1:30 pm on Thursday, Aug. 29, when the suspicious occurrence happened.

She claims a man she did not know tried to pull her into his vehicle for unknown reasons.

“Fortunately, the hiker managed to break free and escape,” said an APD release.
