Popular brand of hash browns recalled in BC

Residents should be cautious while eating their hash browns.

Popular brand Cavendish Farms has had its "Classic Hash Brown Patties" and no-name brand patties recalled. The recall is in effect in BC, Alberta and Manitoba.

These breakfast items are being recalled due to undeclared wheat and barley. The recalled items have the UPC codes "0 56210 26106 9" and "0 60383 01048 5."

If you have an allergy to wheat, have celiac disease or other gluten-related disorders, you should avoid this product. They could cause serious or life-threatening reactions.

Recalled products should either be thrown out or returned to the stores they were purchased at.

Thankfully, to this point, there have been no reported reactions associated with the consumption of these products.
