The Royal Canadian Mint has revealed a new series of coins that celebrate our country’s natural beauty.
The three-coin series is called Wildlife Reflections, and features a grizzly bear, cougar and a moose in stunning colour.
“Each coin captures a contemplative moment in the wild and highlights each species’ awe-inspiring qualities, reflecting their majesty alongside the grandeur of the Canadian wilderness,” says the Mint. “It’s the next-best thing to being in the great outdoors!”
The series is “texturally enhanced,” allowing you to see a “unique multi‑texture visual effect that mimics the look of the animal’s fur and adds a realistic shimmer to the surface of the water.”
The coins are being released a few months apart. The grizzly bear coin was released on March 5, 2024, while the cougar coin will be out June 25, and the moose will follow in November 5. The Mint is allowing people to purchase a subscription for the series, to secure your purchase of all three coins.
Crafted in 99.99% pure silver, each coin has a limited mintage of 7,500.
