A new winter festival is coming to Vancouver this winter and it looks like it’ll be some great family fun.
Aurora Winter Festival is a large-scale interactive holiday experience that will run in Vancouver from Nov. 23 through Dec. 30.
The festival is designed to emulate the North Pole, with Concord Pacific Place transforming into a winter wonderland.
That includes giant sculptures, animated sets, a light dome showcasing the Aurora Borealis, a tube park, a frozen river, a 60-ft ferris wheel and an entertainment tent with live music.
It’ll also feature captivating light displays, Santa’s workshop and mystical characters along with plenty of food trucks and holiday vendors.
For those seeking adventure, you can join the Mystical Worlds Quest, driven by an interactive app that leads guests across the festival’s four worlds in search of key icons.
“We are confident that guests will be blown away by the diversity of activities and visuals that the Aurora Winter Festival will offer,” said Scott Emslie, Aurora’s co-founder. “The festival has something for all ages.”
Emslie said they wanted to bring a festival to B.C.’s largest city that would exceed people’s expectations and give the community something to look forward to.
General admission for Aurora starts on Friday, Oct. 5 with tickets costing $14.99 for children and $19.99 for adults.
