VIDEO: Drone footage shows damage done to Loon Lake area

Video footage shot by a drone has given a clearer picture of the damage caused by the Elephant Hill Wildfire in the Loon Lake area.

The TNRD shot and released the drone footage on Saturday, July 22nd in order to conduct a damage assessment of the area.

The BC Wildfire Service continues to actively fight the fire in the area, which saw the loss of over sixty structures when it first struck the area earlier in July.

Following the drone footage, a Damage Assessment team went into the area on Friday, July 28th, and identified homes that can be immediately reoccupied, and homes that have been severely damaged or destroyed and cannot be reoccupied.
