A provincial park on Vancouver Island is getting its time in the spotlight after a popular YouTuber stayed for a night in a U-Haul.
Steve Wallis makes a variety of camping content across Canada, including stealth camping videos.
His latest trip was to Goldstream Provincial Park in Langford, where he stayed for one night after decking out the back of a U-Haul with a rug, chairs, curtains, lights, a TV and an air mattress.
“The perfect camping opportunity presented itself with a U-Haul rental depot directly across from a campground! It just took a quick trip to Canadian Tire and a thrift store to get the van ready for camping and I was all set,” Wallis said in the video description. “It turned out to be a surprisingly appropriate vehicle to camp in for the night!”
It was definitely glamping at its finest—complete with a camping pizza oven, a Granville Island lager, a great view and a fire courtesy of a few packs of sparklers.
Wallis did note that he has had some trouble with U-Haul in the past, and said he does not encourage people to do this.
He added in his video that he doesn’t damage the vehicle, and hopes that the company has a “good sense of humour.”
