Four people were hospitalized after a stabbing in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside on Wednesday night.
Police responded to the incident outside a building near East Hastings Street and Jackson Avenue around 6:40 pm.
A 17-year-old was arrested at a different Downtown Eastside location “within hours” of the alleged assaults, a Vancouver Police Department (VPD) release explained.
Police believe one of the four victims was targeted, while the other three were bystanders.
All four of them – three men and a woman ranging in age from 33 to 60 – were treated in hospital for stab wounds.
The suspect was charged with four counts of aggravated assault on Thursday and is currently being held in custody.
