The participants have been revealed for the 2025 Honda Celebration of Light (HCOL), which is held in Vancouver every summer.
This year’s participating countries include teams from the Yukon, Quebec and Nova Scotia.
Organizers say the 33rd edition of the show, which is the world’s longest running offshore fireworks show, will be a celebration of Canada to match the wave of national pride in recent months.
“The last several months have proven to be a challenging period for our great nation. However, the circumstances have also contributed to a wave of nationalism that is unprecedented,” said Michael McKnight, Co-Chair of the Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society.
“It’s in that spirit that we are wrapping our 2025 event in the Canadian flag and celebrating everything that is great about this country.”
In addition to the three exciting fireworks shows, Canada’s iconic Snowbirds will be featured on July 19 and 23.
Team Midnight Sun will kick off the event on Saturday, July 19.
The returning HCOL champions of 2022 are an award winning team of volunteer pyrotechnicians from the Yukon who are known for their unique and imaginative displays.
“Every performance is a testament to their deep passion for the art of pyro-musical design, where light, sound, and creativity dance together in perfect harmony,” say HCOL organizers.
Team Royal Pyrotechnie will take the stage on Wednesday, July 13 to represent Quebec.
The team has been around since 1996 and presents more than 500 fireworks shows each year
They are a leading importer of pyrotechnics in Canada and distributes family and professional fireworks from coast to coast, earning them international recognition.
“Their celestial artisans are passionate individuals who pour their hearts into their craft,” says the HCOL news release.
Team Fireworks FX will close out the event on Saturday, July 26.
“Fireworks FX is one of Canada’s leading fireworks companies and has been helping Canadians celebrate for over 40 years,” organizers say.
“Based in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley, with operations also in Barbados, FX has lit up skies across Canada, the Caribbean, and around the world—from Japan to Turkmenistan.”
An exciting electric drone will kick off each fireworks display show that starts at about 10 pm.
All fireworks displays are scheduled to begin at 10:15 pm in English Bay.
