Woman, 25, dead after industrial accident at BC worksite

One woman is dead following an industrial accident in Richmond.

It happened around 1 pm on Wednesday at Tree Island Steel Ltd, located at 3933 Boundary Rd.

The 25-year-old employee was rushed to hospital by paramedics, but later succumbed to her injuries.

“Next-of-kin notification has been completed, however, the victim’s name is not being released at this time out of respect for the family,” explained an RCMP release.

Investigators from the Richmond RCMP serious crime unit and WorkSafeBC continue to look into the incident.

The BC Coroners Service has also been notified.
