Box Canyon chain up is NO LONGER in effect.
Several semi trucks were spun out between Hope and Merritt overnight after the highway was hit with a late season storm.
Unfortunately, the southbound lanes were closed shortly after 6 pm.
About 30 minutes later, the northbound lanes were closed.
Pictures shared by DriveBC show heavy snow and long lines of traffic overnight.
As for Sunday morning, there is compact snow on the highway and DriveBC asks people to drive for the conditions.
No additional snow is expected on the Coquihalla as Environment Canada has ended the snowfall warning.
