Anyone who is planning on travelling Highway 1 through the Shuswap Friday night should prepare for minor delays.
DriveBC has reported that delays can be expected from 8-9 pm.
Construction at the R. W. Bruhn Bridge is the cause of the delays.
đ§â ď¸ #BCHwy1 - Heads up, minor delays are expected in #Sicamous from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM due to construction.

The highway will open to single lane alternating (SLAT) traffic from 9 pm to 6 am on Saturday.
After that it will be fully open from 6 am to 9 pm before returning to SLAT overnight.
That schedule repeats until at least July 19 with the exceptions of Monday mornings when the highway is fully open from midnight to 6 am.
Work, which started in fall 2024, will see 1.9 kilometres of Highway 1 widened to have four lanes and the bridge replaced with a four-lane structure.
Below is a picture of the construction schedule, which can also be found at this link.
