(UPDATE: Nov. 20 @ 12:30 pm) - The Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) is open again through the Shuswap.
The major route shut down this morning due to what DriveBC classified as a "vehicle incident."
According to DriveBC, the highway has reopened to single-lane alternating traffic.
Travellers are advised to expect delays after the closure.

(Original story: Nov. 20 @ 10:30 am) - Traffic is starting to back up due to a Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) closure in the Shuswap.
According to DriveBC, the major route is shut down in both directions due to a “vehicle incident.”

The incident is near Sorrento, between Chase and Salmon Arm.
While an alternate route is available around the closure via Notch Hill Road, travellers are advised to expect delays.
There is currently no estimated time for the highway to reopen and DriveBC isn’t anticipating another update until 1 pm.
