There's tremendous power in setting daily intentions. When we set intentions, we are essentially telling our mind what we want.
This helps program our subconscious mind for success and eventually leads us to take actions that align with our intentions.
However, simply thinking about them is not enough.
For them to be effective, we need to put some feeling behind them. We need to believe them at a core level and apply that belief to our lives.
There are things you may desire or even need, but it's important to choose ones that really resonate with you.
The more believable they are, the more likely you are to internalize them. Keep them short, sweet, and specific to what you want to achieve.
When you say your intentions out loud, like when you say affirmations, it helps to program your subconscious mind for success.
It also allows you to put more feeling behind the words.
Writing your intentions down is a great way to cement them into your mind. As you write, really think about what the words mean and how they apply to your life.
Maybe you write something like this: “I intend to love myself and others around me unconditionally today.”
When you pair your intentions with positive visualization, you effectively tell your subconscious mind that you are confident and capable of achieving your goals. See yourself succeeding and believe that it is possible.
Intentions, just like affirmations, are only effective if you take action towards your goals.
Believe in yourself and your ability to achieve great things, and then go out there and make it happen.
The best time to set your intentions is first thing in the morning or right before you go to bed.
This is because your subconscious mind is most receptive to new information when you are just waking up or winding down for the day.
That said, you can technically set affirmations at any time of the day. So, if you find yourself feeling down or doubting your abilities, take a few moments to repeat some positive intention statements to yourself.
Here are a few intentions to get you started:
I intend to see what’s good around me today.
I intend to be present in the moment.
I intend to feel the freedom to forgive myself and others.
I intend to smile at everyone today.
Setting your intentions daily, along with having an affirmations practise, can help you feel better about yourself and increase your self-confidence.
It also is a powerful language for your brain to receive, helping to shape your reality to your liking.
Give it a try today and see how you feel—I guarantee you’ll feel more abundant in no time!
That's all for this week's edition of Self Care Sunday.
I wish you all the best on your journey to becoming the greatest you can be.
Love and gratitude, Andrea S. Barone ❤️
