Crews douse roaring blaze at Chase residence

Fire Crews in Chase were dealing with all they could handle on Wednesday night when a roaring fire sprung up.

According to Chase Fire Department Chief Brian Lauzon, the blaze started at Beach Crescent just after 10 pm.

"The structure was at #21, Beach Crescent," said Lauzon. "It was a two-story home with an attached garage."

Lauzon adds that the building was fully engulfed when crews arrived.

"It started in the second-floor area, I'm doing my investigation later on today I hope to determine more information from the home-owner and witnesses to find out where exactly it started and what started the fire."

The second floor of the house was unsalvageable, though Lauzon mentioned the bottom of the structure is still safe.
