I moved to Victoria in May of 2017 after retiring in Ontario. I love animals, and choose to live a vegan lifestyle. I just can’t get enough of nature and being outside. I enjoy photography because it’s a way to see all the beautiful things in life.it allows us to never forget those moments. I enjoy travelling and seeing other places and love learning the culture and lifestyle. I’m loving my new home here and love all the beauty the island has.
Why do you use Instagram?
I started with Instagram just a year ago as it allows me to follow other photographers and see places that I may not see. It’s also been a great platform to show my work and have made new friends. I am inspired by other photographers and have learned a lot about my new home.
What will people see on your feed?
They will see vibrant colours of beauty. From oceans to sunsets, flowers and places I have travelled or enjoyed.
Does your page have a specific style?
My page doesn’t have a certain theme as that would be boring for me. I like to see many places. I see the beauty all around me every day as I’m very active in my retirement life.
Favourite Instagram accounts to follow?
I like following places I want to travel. Such as Europe but I also enjoy following other island photographers as I’m getting to learn about different places as well. I enjoy following accounts with nature dogs and flowers. As well as landscape nature and countries.
How do you decide on your location for shoots?
I venture out to places I haven’t been too. I then just walk around enjoying all the beauty I can find. I love going to many places that I have seen thru others photos. Of course, I have my own favourite places so far that I visit often. Royal Roads, Hatley Castle, Butchart Gardens and Fort Rudd are some of them.
Biggest Instagram moment?
Making new friends from the island as well as many from other parts of the world. I made a new friend who lives in Germany and we have become great friends. She just published her first book and gave me a signed copy. I also go hiking with new friends from the island.

I like Victoria Tourism as it is good for others to see the beauty we have here. I enjoy following Victoria buzz, Canada Photo lovers and explore Victoria. I also enjoy following different destinations to travel.
Why do you follow VictoriaNow?
I follow Victoria now because it showcases what’s going on. From food to sharing awesome pics from local photographers. I also like that it’s not just one photographer work. I find other sites only share the same photographer's work. There are so many fabulous photographers here that never get recognized. It also showcases many places of interest to an island newbie like myself.
