A woman is facing charges after she crashed through a home in Vernon over the weekend.
According to police, on Sunday at approximately 4:10 pm, officers and emergency personnel responded to a motor vehicle incident in a residential neighbourhood. After speaking to witnesses in the 3400 block of 17th Street, the driver was identified.
Through observation and tests, police determined that the 26-year-old Vernon woman was impaired.
"Based on their observations, officers on scene launched an impaired driving investigation," said Constable Chris Terleski. "The driver failed a roadside screening device test and was transported to the Vernon RCMP detachment where she provided additional samples of her breath to police."
The woman was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle as well as operating a motor vehicle while her blood alcohol exceeded 80 milligrams.
She has since been released from custody pending a future court date.
