Police said that shortly before 8 pm that night, officers were called to the 500-block of Pembroke Street for a report that a man smashed the driver’s side window of a van with a hammer while a woman and her dog were inside.

The suspect was heard screaming on the street before he smashed the windows of a parked vehicle behind the victim’s van with a hammer.

The victim attempted to flee the scene in her van, however, the suspect then began smashing her vehicle windows with the hammer. The victim and her dog fled from the van out of the passenger side, while the van kept moving and collided with an additional parked vehicle.

Camper, frightened by the incident, ran away from the scene and has yet to be found. The victim ran to safety and alerted police.

Camper was last seen running in the 700-block of Government Street shortly after the incident.
