Furever Home Finder: Sadie

Sadie is looking for a furever home!

This pup is a 1-year-old Labrador Retriever. She is currently at the Victoria SPCA, waiting to find her perfect match.

According to the BC SPCA, Sadie came to the shelter after living a life where she was kept outside in a pen with minimal interaction from humans. They suspect that she may have experienced abuse in the past.

When she came to the shelter, she struggled with being indoors, walking on slippery floors, and being around so many humans. She would lay in the corner with her eyes closed and shake all day. She wouldn’t eat, and she wouldn’t go outside.

Luckily, another dog named Mabel, owned by staff, helped Sadie feel safe and she came out of her shell. Now Sadie will go on walks with her doggy friends, and will even play with toys in her kennel.

With that being said, Sadie will need a home with a friendly, confident dog to play with and comfort her. She learns by watching other dogs. Unfortunately, Sadie is not suitable for young children and will need a quiet household with few visitors initially.
She will also need yard access while she gets comfortable living indoors and going on walks.
