VIDEO: Shoppers flock to Aberdeen Mall for inaugural Behind Closed Doors charity event

Nearly 2,000 patrons made their way to Aberdeen Mall on Saturday evening, Holiday shopping lists in hand and ready to conquer the city’s very first Behind Closed Doors Charity event.

Over a year in the making, the event was brought to life as a way to bolster the community and provide a head start on holiday shopping at no detriment to attendees wallets.

The special occasion saw shoppers line up throughout the parking lot at each mall entrance, eager for their opportunity to shop exclusive one-night-only sales while most importantly, supporting various community organizations.

Benefitting from each $10 ticket sold, were four Kamloops-based charities which included the Kamloops Players Society, the Youth Soccer Association, People In Motion and the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation.

Each organization was responsible for selling their own tickets, of which they would keep 100% of the funds garnered. In addition, the total funds gathered from night-of ticket sales are set to be divided amongst the four beneficiaries.

From massive markdowns to incredible discounts, each store within the mall offered any frugal shopper something worth getting excited about.

Aside from the deals to be found, attendees had the opportunity to win cash and prizes at the spin wheel set up in the centre of all the hustle and bustle.

With Christmas carols ringing throughout the entire mall, to glittering tinsel and holiday cheer in abundance, Behind Closed Doors kicked off the season of giving in a very bright and merry way!
