(UPDATE: 6:30 pm) - BCWS has updated the fire burning west of Kamloops.
According to the update, it is burning at one hectare, approximately 24 kilometre east of Ashcroft, adjacent to Highway 1.
The wildfire is burning on steep terrain, they say, which often makes the fire more difficult to manage.
Personnel are on site and being assisted by helicopter.
