(UPDATE: July 14 @ 6:28 am): The Tremont Creek wildfire has grown to 300 hectares in size.
BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) now lists it as a wildfire of note.
It remains classed as out of control and its cause is under investigation.

In a statement released last night, the BCWS said: "Conditions on site this afternoon were hot and dry with the fire growth being influenced by southwest winds."
BCWS also said the fire is now part of the Lytton Creek Complex, which includes the Lytton Creek and George Road wildfires.
"Resources are assigned to fires within the complex and will [be] repositioned as activity requires," the agency explained.
(Original story: July 13 @ 6:30 am): Firefighters are responding to a new wildfire near Ashcroft.
The Tremont Creek wildfire was estimated to be about 5 hectares in size last night.
BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) said it was “showing aggressive fire behaviour.”
“This fire will be highly visible to the surrounding area as it is located approximately 8.5 kilometres southeast of the Village of Ashcroft,” the agency explained.
It added: “The community is not currently threatened.”
