(UPDATE: Aug. 1 @ 10:07 am) – The BC Wildfire Service has gotten both wildfires burning northeast of Heffley Creek to a stage of being held.
That means the fire is expected to remain within the current perimeter, control line or boundary given the current conditions and resource availability.
One of the first was snuffed out after it grew to about 0.1 hectares, that’s about a quarter acre.
The larger one was moved to being held Friday morning. It grew to 5.8 hectares.
Both were started by lighting on Wednesday.
The BCWS said crews will continue to action the fire until it is out.
