The B.C. Lions family got some tragic news over the weekend.
The club announced on Saturday that Geroy Simon’s wife, Tracy Lasorsa-Simon, had passed away.

“We are devastated at the news of Tracy’s passing and we ask that you keep the entire Simon family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time,” said VP of football operations, GM and head coach Wally Buono. “Tracy has been part of the BC Lions family for more than a decade and her loss is heart-breaking for all of us.”
She’s survived by her husband Geroy and their two children.
Simon is in his third season as a member of the B.C. Lions operations staff.
Before that he spent 12 seasons as a receiver for the Lions, setting franchise records in receptions, yards and touchdowns.
The CFL also released a statement on Lasorsa-Simon’s passing.
“The entire CFL community is deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Tracy Lasorsa-Simon, wife of our friend and colleague Geroy Simon,” said CFL Commissioner, Jeffrey L. Orridge. “Our thoughts and prayers are with their family and everyone with love in their hearts for Tracy and Geroy, including the BC Lions and their players and coaches.”
Details on her death have not been released and the Simon family has requested privacy at this time.
