The Kamloops Blazers will be hosting the Portland Winterhawks on B.C. Family Day on February 13th and it’s a rare afternoon start.
There will be lots going on at the Sandman Centre surrounding the 2 p.m. puck drop.
The first 5,000 fans through the door will get a Jermaine Loewen bobblehead.
The Blazers will also be welcoming 400 Big Brothers Big Sisters from the mentoring program.
February 13th’s Family Day game will be recognized as ‘Faith and Family Day’, with Bishop Joseph P. Nguyen dropping the puck for a ceremonial faceoff.
If you’re looking to go on a vacation soon, the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be raffling off a trip for two to anywhere that WestJet flies and tickets are only being sold at the game.
Even once the game is done, the Family Day fun won’t stop as fans will receive a team poster on their way out of the building.
If you have time to stick around, however, there’s a chance to hit the Sandman Centre ice and skate with the Blazers players.
Once the skate is finished, the team will be at Browns Socialhouse to interact with fans.
