Barring another trade this season, Scott Mahovlich will be competing in the 2018 Memorial Cup.
The Kamloops Blazers have traded the 18-year-old forward to the tournament host Regina Pats on Monday in exchange for a seventh-round WHL Bantam Draft pick in 2018.
The Abbotsford, BC native suited up for 62 career games with the Blazers and recorded a goal and six points along with 44 penalty minutes.
“This transaction will give Scott a chance to play for a Memorial Cup in Regina,” commented General Manager, Stu MacGregor. “It will also give more opportunity to our younger forwards."
MacGregor thanked Mahovlich for his time with the Blazers and wished him luck with Regina.
The Blazers host the Seattle Thunderbirds on Wednesday night with puck drop slated for 7 p.m. at the Sandman Centre.
