The Kamloops Blazers are the BC Division champions for 2020-21 and Monday night’s blowout win over the Kelowna Rockets put a serious exclamation mark on the season.
Kamloops got five powerplay goals en route to a convincing 10-2 win over their Thompson-Okanagan rivals.

It was only 2-0 Blazers after 20 minutes of play thanks to goals from Fraser Minten and Caedan Bankier.
It got out of hand in the middle frame, however, as a pair of goals from Connor Levis and tallies from Inaki Baragano and Matthew Seminoff made it 6-0.
The Rockets showed some life early in the third period, as Alex Swetlikoff and Dillon Hamaliuk got the home team on the board, but that’s as close as they would come.
Levis completed his hat trick, Josh Pillar and Orrin Centazzo added goals and Minten potted his second of the game with just under four minutes to play, the Blazers 10th goal of the night.
Dylan Ernst, brother of injured Rockets forward Ethan Ernst, made 24 saves for the easy victory, while Roman Basran and Cole Schwebius combined for a forgettable night on the other end.
Each of these teams now has one game left on their schedule, both at home on Wednesday night.
Kelowna will host the Victoria Royals at Prospera Place, while Kamloops will take on the Prince George Cougars at Sandman Centre.
