Many of the host Okanagan Gymnastics Centre athletes saved their best for last at the annual Ogopogo Invitational on the weekend in West Kelowna.
A record-number 700 athletes from B.C., Alberta and Ontario took part in the three-day event at Royal LePage Place. Among them was the OGC’s Hani Rehan, competing in the Level 2 category and earning a silver medal overall for his best performance of the year in his final event of the season.

Rehan won gold in the high bar, finished second on the floor and third on the pommel horse, vault and parallel bars.
Brent Rambold won the Level 2 (11-12 year old) category after finishing first on parallel bars and high bar and placing second on floor, pommel horse, rings, and vault.
In the Level 1 category, the athletes earn a gold, silver or bronze depending on their score. Elliot Bone, Tristan Edwards and Artiom Potapciuc of the OGC earned gold overall , while Nate Banner finished with silver all-around.
Jack Nyrose won the rings and finished second on the vault in the Level 3 category on the way to a third place overall. Willis Plant earned a bronze medal on the rings.
Oliver Eisele was the highest-level athlete in the boys’ competition and performed his routines for the judges for the last competition of the season.
In the girls’ competition, Amanda Jaggard finished second overall in the Aspire 2 category after placing first on the balance beam and adding silver medals on the three other events. Samantha Pelletier placed third all-around on the strength of taking the bronze on vault and balance beam.
Sophie Tesar claimed the bronze on the floor while Kyleigh Crawford earned a bronze on the uneven bars.
Returning home from the Canadian championships, Lucia Jakab finished first overall in the Level 10 category after taking top spot on the vault and balance beam and in the floor exercise. The OGC’s Jenna Mick competed in her first Level 10 competition, placing third overall with a silver medal coming on the balance beam and floor exercise and bronze on the uneven bars.
Level 8 (2000-01) — Emily Mackay, Maddi Nethercote and Danica Graves all earned a bronze medal in the event for the very first time. Mackay claimed her medal on the uneven bars, Nethercote on the beam and Graves on the floor.
Level 8 (2002-2003) — Jillian Beaudreau won a bronze medal overall with the help of a silver on the uneven bars.
Level 8 (2004 and younger) — Kenedi Woodcox finished third overall, earning after a silver on the bars and a bronze on the balance beam. Kayleigh Nicolson won the balance beam with a 9.60. Both of the girls competed in the Level 8 category for the first time as well.
Level 7 (2003) — Mackenzie Carroll took home the gold medal overall, winning the uneven bars and the balance beam and finishing third on the floor exercise. Carroll finished this competition with a total of 37.75.
Level 5 (2006) — Thea Elma finished with a gold medal on the balance beam and a bronze on the floor.
Level 5 (2007 and younger) — Miah Denis finished the competition with gold overall. She won the uneven bars and the balance beam and finished second on vault and floor exercise. Natalia Simeunovic took gold the vault, earned silver on uneven bars and bronze on the floor.
Level 4 (2005) — Sophia Augustin won the balance beam and Kate Levinson finished with a silver medal on the uneven bars.
Level 4 (2006) — Teagan Murray won the balance beam with a score of 9.575.
Level 4 (2007) — Piper Campo finished with a silver medal on the vault.
Level 3 (2007) — Summer Houston of the OGC won the gold medal on the vault and a bronze medal on the balance beam. Haylee VanSteinburg finished with a bronze medal on the uneven bars.
Level 3 (2008) — Olive Fenske won the all-around gold after winning the vault, uneven bars and balance beam with a score 9.683.
Level 2 — the athletes earn a gold, silver or bronze depending on their score. Rae Roworth, Paige Trottier, Makena Ivanitz and Ava Roth earned a silver medal overall while Taylor Campbell, Kaydin Weiler and Rylea Regier earned bronze overall.
Interclub Performance Plus — Shiphra Penner, Seija Bishop and Jordan Hilverda earned gold overall.
Aida Hedstrom, Olivia Pilato, Nyah Hedstrom, Kaisha Knox, Jocelyn Stone, Summer Walker, Macy Eburne, Katjana Geismayr, Ava Schraeder, Caiya Taylor-Ainslie, Olivia Thompson and Jordan Carson all won silver overall.
