BC Lions announce 2024 schedule as team prepares for 70th season

It still feels like yesterday, but the CFL season has officially been completed for nearly a month and preparations are well underway for the 2024 season.

As part of those preparations, the BC Lions' 2024 schedule has been released.

2024 will mark a special year for the Leos as they celebrate their 70th season in action and have an opportunity to play the Grey Cup on home turf.

“As an organization, we are thrilled to have an outstanding schedule in store for the 70th BC Lions season,” said President Duane Vienneau.

The Lions will play two preseason games before beginning the regular season on the road against the Toronto Argonauts on June 9, 2024.

BC’s first home game will be the following week as they host the Calgary Stampeders at BC Place on June 15, 2024.

2024 will mark the first time since 2019 that the Lions will host and visit the eight other CFL teams as the league returns to a balanced schedule.

The Lions did not visit the Ottawa Redblacks in 2023 and will host them in Victoria for the first-ever Touchdown Pacific game on the Labour Day weekend.

BC will take on Calgary and Winnipeg three times each while playing two contests against Edmonton and Saskatchewan.

The Leos will close out the season against the reigning Grey Cup champs, Montreal, before resting the final week on a bye.

If all goes to plan, the Leos will then begin their 2024 playoff journey with their eyes set on revenge against Winnipeg.

The 111th Grey Cup is being held at BC Place on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024.
