The BC Lions are off to a strong start as they opened the season with a 31-14 win against the Edmonton Elks on Saturday.
Prior to kickoff, the crowd got amped up watching Snoop Dogg perform at BC Place.

It was a slow start for both teams scoring-wise as the Elks posted the only point of the first frame courtesy of a rouge.
Down 7-3 to start the third quarter, Nathan Rourke found Stanley Berryhill in the endzone to put the Leos up 10-7.
With the clock winding down in the frame, Rourke connected with Berryhill again to put the Leos up 17-7.

BC never looked back and added another pair of scores in the final frame to take the win and give Buck Pierce his first victory as head coach.
Rourke finished with 27 completions, 324 yards and three touchdowns, while Berryhill had 105 receiving yards with his pair of scores.
The Leos will only have a few days to rest before heading to Winnipeg to face the Blue Bombers on Thursday.
