BC’s Team Brown is near the top of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts standings after seven draws and a big win over the hometown team on Monday.
The Kamloops rink has won two consecutive matches since falling 8-9 against Alberta’s Team Skrlik on Saturday.
The first of those victories came on Sunday after Team Brown defeated Team Saskatchewan 7-6 in a narrow match that needed an extra end.
Holding on to a 5-2 lead after six ends, skip Nancy Martin and Team Saskatchewan scored a single in the seventh frame and stole a deuce in the eighth end.
Corryn Brown’s rink then scored a single to take a 6-5 lead into the 10th end, but Martin’s rink was able to even score at the end of regulation.
Brown fought back for the 7-6 win and to move to 2-1.
The Kamloops rink then used their momentum from Sunday's thriller to defeat Team Northern Ontario 9-3 Monday morning.
With the win, Team Brown is 3-1 after four matches and only behind Team Skrlik and the strong Team Homan in their group's standings.
Brown’s rink is back in action against Nunavut on Monday night before a showdown with Canada’s Team Homan on Wednesday.
