Edmonton Oilers bounce back to win game 2 against Calgary Flames in playoff 'Battle of Alberta'

Canada's remaining two NHL teams in the playoffs were back in action on Friday night, this time in game two of the "Battle of Alberta."

After winning the first game by a score of 9-6, Calgary came up short to the Edmonton Oilers. Led by former Kelowna Rocket Leon Draisaitl and superstar Connor McDavid, the Oilers took down the Flames by a score of 5-3.

In the first period, Calgary jumped out to the early 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Michael Stone and Brett Ritchie. Edmonton got one back late in the frame from Duncan Keith.

Tyler Toffoli made it 3-1 for the Flames after scoring three minutes into the second period.

Edmonton would go on to score four unanswered goals from McDavid, Evan Bouchard, Zach Hyman and Draisaitl.

Mike Smith stopped 37 of 40 shots in the win while Jacob Markstrom went 35 of 40 in the loss.

The two teams are back in action again on Sunday, this time from Edmonton at 5 pm.
