The Kamloops Blazers will be without one of the best names on their team for the start of this season.
Jerzy Orchard was reassigned by the club. The 18-year-old forward will start his season with the Merritt Centennials of the BCHL, though he could still be called up to Kamloops.
Orchard appeared in 41 games for the Blazers last season. In those games, Orchard scored once and put up three points.
With the move, the Blazers roster now sits at 23 players including 14 forwards, seven defenseman, and two goaltenders.
Kamloops starts their season on Friday against the Spokane Chiefs at the Sandman Centre. Puck drop is at 7:00 pm.
