Is this the year?

The Kamloops Blazers are preparing to start training camp with registration opening today. Kamloops will have 87 players in attendance with all returning, listed and free-agent players split into four teams that will compete for the 2nd annual Blazers Cup.

On-ice session will run from Thursday until Sunday. The Blazer Cup will be awarded to the winner of the 1st vs 2nd place game on the final day of camp.

The Blazer Cup is awarded annually and represents all of the past alumni. This season, the four teams names are Nolan Baumgartner, Hnat Domenichelli, Jason Holland and Ryan Huska.

This season marks the 25-year anniversary of the 1994-1995 Kamloops Blazers that hosted and won the Memorial Cup. The four training camp teams are named after players that were a part of that 1995 Memorial Cup team.

Training camp schedule includes practices from 8 am to 12:45 pm and games from 4 pm to 7:45 pm on August 23rd, 24th, and 25th. The final games will take place on Sunday at 8:30 am and 10:30 am.

Registration and ice sessions will all be held at the Sandman Centre. All ice sessions are open and free to attend for the public.

Kamloops will start their WHL preseason with two home games as they host the Victoria Royals on August 31st at 7:00 pm and the Kelowna Rockets on September 1st at 2:00 pm.
