It was a special weekend for post-secondary football in Canada as Maya Turner and the University of Manitoba Bisons football team made history.
In her second year with the team as a kicker, Turner suited up for their game against the University of Regina on Saturday.
Turner then got the call in the second quarter, making history as she stepped on the field as the first woman to play in a regular season U Sports football game.
She lined up for the field goal, nailing the 21-yard shot to become the first woman to ever score a point in a regular season U Sports football game.
