Dan Kordic, a former professional ice hockey player with the Philadelphia Flyers, will be joining the Kamloops Blazers bench staff beside recently announced bench boss, Serge Lajoie.
“We are excited to add Dan to our coaching staff,” said General Manager, Matt Bardsley. “He came highly recommended and after speaking with Dan, along with people who know him as a coach and person, it was clear that he is the right person to work alongside Serge.”

The Edmonton-bred defenceman spent four seasons with the Medicine Hat Tigers, hoisting the Memorial Cup with the team in 1988.
He also suited up for the Flyers for 197 games during his eight-season career between the National Hockey League (NHL) and American Hockey League (AHL) from 1991 to 1999.
“Dan is an excellent addition to our coaching staff, the Blazers organization and the community of Kamloops,” commented Serge Lajoie, Head Coach for the Kamloops Blazers.
“He brings a wealth of playing experience at the NHL and AHL level, but more importantly, his passion for developing players and building strong relationships with the players will be a tremendous asset to our team."
Kordic isn’t new to bumping elbows with his to-be bench buddy, Lajoie. Kordic joined Lajoie in Edmonton as the assistant coach with the University of Alberta Golden Bears for the past two seasons, guiding the squad to a U Sports Championship in the 2017/2018 year.
Welcome to Kamloops, Dan and the Kordic family!
