Oilers look to end Canada’s cup drought in game 7 against Florida tonight

After two days of excitement building, the wait is over and game seven of the Stanley Cup Final between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers is tonight.

The Oilers are the third team in NHL history to force a seventh game in the final after losing the first three matches of the series.

The only team to complete the comeback was the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1942 – and the Oilers will hope to become the second to do so.

Edmonton is coming off three straight games of dominating Florida on the scoresheet, including their 5-1 win in game six this past Friday.

Connor McDavid will have his eyes set on getting back on the scoresheet as the forward is having a postseason for the ages.

McDavid has 42 points in the playoffs, the fourth most ever in a single postseason run, behind only Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux.

Puck drop is at 5 pm PDT.
