The Edmonton Oilers continue to work best when their backs are against the wall and they managed another comeback win on Thursday.
The Oilers are now up 2-0 in their series against the Vegas Golden Knights, with the series now shifting to Edmonton’s home ice.
Down 1-0 in the second period, Jake Walman got the Oilers on the scoreboard with his first score of the postseason.
A few minutes later, Vasily Podkolzin scored and then Darnell Nurse found the back of the net to give the Oilers a 3-1 lead late in the middle frame.
After Vegas managed to get a goal before the end of the second period, Evander Kane opened the scoring in the third period to regain Edmonton’s two-goal lead.
The Golden Knights continued to pressure the Oilers and broke through on a power play to make it a one-goal game.
A little more than seven minutes later, Alex Pietrangelo tied the game for Vegas, eventually forcing overtime.
The Oilers had a chance to seal the win with a five-minute power play in the extra frame, but the Golden Knights managed to kill the penalty.
With time winding down, Connor McDavid got the puck and beat a Vegas defender to make it a two-on-one attack with Leon Draisaitl, who then buried the 5-4 game winner.

The win made Calvin Pickard the first Oilers goalie to start the playoffs 6-0 since Grant Fuhr in 1985.
While the Oilers have Friday off, the Maple Leafs will look to improve their 2-0 series lead against Florida and the Jets will attempt to even their series with Dallas tonight.
