Every Albertan's favourite hockey rivalry, the Battle of Alberta, took place Saturday night and the game was making headlines even before puck drop –– but not for reasons Edmonton was hoping for.
The Edmonton Oilers had some difficulties before their bout with the Calgary Flames. Before the two Western Conference teams took to the ice, the Oilers' zamboni had an issue, bringing it to a halt in Rogers Place.

According to Sportsnet, it was members of the staff that had to put in some leg strength to push the machine off the ice.
Twitter users didn't take long before beginning to dig their claws into the embarrassing mishap at the Oilers' expense.
