Mark Messier is arguably one the greatest hockey players ever.
But he is without a doubt the absolute worst Vancouver Canuck ever.
Use whatever statistics you want to argue the above statement, but any true Canuck’s fan will agree that Messier was the worst.
Turn the sound on the video below for evidence:
Now, thanks to ESPN sports business reporter Darren Rovell, fans can get a detailed look at Messier’s very interesting and handwritten contact.

Aside from his completley indifferent play while with the Canucks, fans are generally most sour about Messier wearing the previously retired No. 11 jersey of the late Wayne Maki and taking the captain’s C from Trevor Linden. Both of which are written in this contract.
Also notable is that while Messier lived across the border in Washington State, the team supplied him with a cooperate three bedroom apartment in Vancouver and almost gave him a $3-million loan for some reason.
Check out the contract below:
Messier signed the above five-year contract worth $6 million per season, which included a $2 million buyout option that the Canucks used after his third year of terrible play.
Years later Messier took the team to court, taking another $6 million from the team in 2012.
