After an impressive last few seasons for the TRU WolfPack's men's soccer team, it seems the rest of league's coaches find them a little short of elite.
In the annual preseason coaches poll, TRU came in as the fourth-best voted team in Canada West. The Pack received 100 total team points with no first-place votes.
The two-time defending CW champion UBC Thunderbirds were tabbed as the favourites going into the season. They received 12 of a possible 13 first-place votes to go along with another 144 team points.
In addition to UBC, the only other team to receive a first-place vote was the Trinity Western Spartans. They ended up in third-place only two team points back of the Alberta Golden Bears at 126.
TRU's cross-region rival UBCO came in near the bottom of the poll with just 43 team points. Rounding out the poll was the Lethbridge Pronghorns who gather only 15 points.
