Team Canada was back in action Tuesday, this time taking on Austria at the World Juniors in Edmonton.
It was a dominating win for Canada in their first meeting with Austria since the 1980s. They took down the Austrians by a scores of 11-2.
Canada scored five goals in the first frame. Connor Bedard got a pair while Kent Johnson, Lukas Cormier and Logan Stankoven each scored one.
Both teams tied in the second period. Bedard got his third of the night while Lukas Necesany got Austrians' first of the game.
Bedard got his fourth of the game in the third. That was followed by a goal from Cole Perfetti, two from Mason McTavish and another from Mavrik Bourque.
Austria got one more before the game ended thanks to Mathias Bohm.
Canada outshot the Austrians 63 to 22 on the night. Brett Brochu made 20 saves in the win.
